Our Second Act
Encore is Hospice Halifax’s non-profit secondhand store, with 100% of proceeds going towards compassionate end-of-life care and community grief supports.
We believe every story deserves a second act. Every garment and good in our store has been loved before and carries a history. Every purchase brings comfort, dignity and care to those nearing life’s end. Together, we’re building a community where giving, finding, and caring connect us all, turning everyday choices into acts of love.
At Encore, we make second-hand shopping purposeful, where every garment and good supports free, compassionate end-of-life care and strengthens our community.

About Hospice Halifax
Hospice Halifax is a compassionate and supportive community of staff members, volunteers, and donors dedicated to making dying and living as comfortable and as meaningful as possible.
Every year, Hospice Halifax welcomes approximately 150 terminally ill patients, including vulnerable seniors, people living with physical disabilities, and people who are precariously housed. With the support of our dedicated community, we offer personal and compassionate care, giving our patients the space to live before they die.
